Gemini [मिथुन (Mithuna) quality Dvisvabhava (dual)] is the third astrological sign in the Zodiac, originating from the constellation of Gemini.  Under the tropical zodiac, the sun transits this sign between about 21 May and 21 June. Gemini is considered a “masculine”, positive (extrovert) sign and an air sign, and is one of four mutable signs.

Gemini has been closely associated with the planet Mercury and is considered to be ruled by it.  Being the third sign of the zodiac, Gemini has been associated with the astrological third house. Gemini were the twin brothers Castor and Pollux in Greek mythology, known as the Dioscuri, and sometimes known as Iabal and Ivbal. Because of the spacecraft’s ability to carry two astronauts, NASA named its two-person space capsule Project Gemini after the zodiac sign.
