10 Echo

Aquarius

Single cover for Aquarius (2020) by IO ECHO. A green-toned abstract landscape features faint mountain contours and a central circular motif. A minimalist bow and arrow symbol hovers at the center, suggesting astrological or mythic resonance. Bold blue text “10 ECHO” anchors the top left, while “AQUARIUS” appears in stylized font at the bottom right. The composition evokes themes of orientation, cosmic identity, and elemental motion within a layered, dreamlike terrain.

Aquarius [कुम्भ (Kumbha) quality Sthira (fixed)] is the eleventh astrological sign in the Zodiac, originating from the constellation Aquarius. Under the tropical zodiac, the Sun is in the Aquarius sign between about January 21 and about February 20, while under the sidereal Zodiac, the sun is in Aquarius from approximately February 15 to March 14, depending on the leap year. Aquarius is considered a “masculine”, positive (extrovert) sign. It is also considered an air sign and is one of four fixed signs.

Aquarius has been traditionally ruled by the planet Saturn, and, since its discovery, Uranus has been considered a modern ruler of this sign. Being the eleventh sign of the zodiac, Aquarius is associated with the astrological eleventh house. Aquarius, the water carrier represented by the zodiacal constellation Aquarius is Ganymede, a beautiful Phrygian youth and son of Tros, King of Troy in Greek mythology with whom Zeus fell in love with while Ganymede was tending to his father’s flocks on Mount Ida. In the disguise as an eagle (represented by the constellation Aquila) the king of gods carried Ganymede off to Olympus to be cup-bearer to the gods.

Aquarius is a constellation of the zodiac, situated between Capricornus and Pisces. It was one of the 48 constellations listed by the 2nd century astronomer Ptolemy, and it remains one of the 88 modern constellations. At an apparent magnitude of 2.9, Beta Aquarii is the brightest star in the constellation. Aquarius is found in a region often called the Sea due to its profusion of constellations with watery associations such as Cetus the whale, Pisces the fish, and Eridanus the river.

Aquarius is the seventh in the astronomically (astrologically) themed 10 Echo Lp.

*The Alcubierre drive, Alcubierre warp drive, or Alcubierre metric; a warp drive idea to where a spacecraft would traverse distances by contracting space in front of it and expanding space behind it, resulting in effective faster-than-light travel. The idea is based on a solution of Einstein's field equations in general relativity as proposed by theoretical physicist Miguel Alcubierre during his PhD study at the University of Wales, Cardiff.
