Released on June 28, 2018 by Om Pharaoh Records, How to Time Travel marks a quiet return for Ov Moi Omm after a period of reflection following a prolific stretch in 2015. This collection continues the artist’s layered approach to composition, weaving ambient, electronic, classical, and soundart elements into a meditation on time, memory, and transformation.

The album moves through imagined and remembered histories—echoes of war, revolution, oceanic loss, and philosophical inquiry. The opening track, Crito, gestures toward ancient dialogues on mortality and obligation, while John Watkins Lost at Sea evokes the quiet gravity of disappearance and the weight of water.

Themes of health, ancestry, and the fragility of the body surface throughout, not as declarations but as impressions—fragments of experience shaped by distance and care. How to Time Travel does not seek resolution, but instead offers a space to linger, to listen, and to remember.

**The Nassau Blues was a brief British Loyalist provincial battalion raised during the American Revolutionary War. 

Origin & Purpose: The regiment was authorized on May 1, 1779, to defend British crown interests and maintain control over Long Island, Province of New York. 

Commanding Officer: It was established and commanded by Colonel William Axtell, a prominent New York Loyalist who also served as the Colonel of the Kings County Militia. 

Formation Orders: Official military orders issued on June 6, 1779, by Lieutenant General Daniel Jones directed Colonel Axtell to raise the regiment based on a plan approved by Daniel Jones (British Army officer). 

Disbandment: The unit had a very short operational lifespan and was disbanded in December 1780 (some early military rolls record December 1779).

Legacy: Following its disbandment, the majority of the officers and soldiers transferred into the New York Volunteers, which was later designated as the 3rd American Regiment. Notable officers, such as Captain Frederick de Peyster, later moved on to other famous Loyalist units like the King's American Regiment. 

Corporal John Gavel Sr. was a United Empire Loyalist who served under Colonel William Axtell in the Nassau Blues.

Military Service: He took his loyalty oath in Flatbush, New York on July 14, 1776, directly before William Axtell. He went on to serve as a Corporal in the Nassau Blues during its deployment from 1779 to 1780. 

Background: Family genealogy records note that he was originally from Pennsylvania, spoke Dutch, and was born around 1745. 

Resettlement in Canada: Because the British lost the war, Loyalists had to evacuate New York. In 1783, John Gavel fled to Shelburne, Nova Scotia, with his family. By 1786, he received a Crown land grant of 200 acres along the Tusket River. The settlement area in Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, was actually named Gavelton in honour of his family. He passed away there around 1810.
