Polyphony Più

Surround Fundamental Shifts and Exhibitions

Album cover for Surround Fundamental Shifts and Exhibitions (2019) by Polyphony Più. A surreal figure turns away, its head transformed into a vibrant, patterned wing or leaf—blurring the line between human and natural form. The textured blue background adds depth and contemplative stillness, while the raised hand suggests motion or introspection. Stylized green text anchors the corners, framing the image as a meditation on transformation, multiplicity, and the choreography of perception.

Released in 2018, Surround Fundamental Shifts and Exhibitions is the third album by Polyphony Più, a work that moves through experimental and ambient‑industrial territories with a sense of inquiry and unease. The album opens with “Imagined Orders” in two parts, framing the record with meditations on the structures—real or invented—that shape human behaviour.

Across its sequence, the album wanders through historical, scientific, and esoteric references: “Through My Astrolabe,” “Second Hand Lanterns,” “The Parabalani,” “Codex Theodosianus,” “Hypatia of Alexandria,” “Phryian,” and “Genetic Codex Exposed to Different Environmental Influences.” Each piece feels like a fragment of a larger study, shifting between ancient narratives and modern frameworks.

Other tracks explore ritual and mortality—“Steward’s Magick,” “Memento Mori (Tadhkirat al‑Mawt / Maranasati)”—while pieces like “Livingstone Field Diaries” and “Sculpturing Sound Molecules and Creating Vibes” drift toward more observational or process‑driven spaces. The album closes with “Perhaps Now, Styx is Certain” and “Anachronism,” two works that fold time, myth, and dislocation into a final, unresolved gesture.

Surround Fundamental Shifts and Exhibitions stands as one of Polyphony Più’s most expansive statements, a record that treats history, perception, and experimentation as interconnected fields.
