Omniman
"Not only is the Universe stranger than we think, it is stranger than we can think." - Werner Heisenberg
OMNIMAN emerged in southern Ontario in the late 2000s, evolving from earlier creative partnerships that stretched back to the 1990s. What began as a shared experiment gradually transformed into a more individual pursuit, with the project continuing under the banner OMNIMAN II after 2011. Despite the shift, the name OMNIMAN remains the umbrella under which all phases of the project coexist.
Drawing loosely from the structure of Pharaonic king lists, OMNIMAN’s development is understood in two eras:
OMNIMAN I — the collaborative period, marked by exploratory groundwork and formative ideas.
OMNIMAN II — the continuation and expansion of those ideas through a single guiding hand.
Across both phases, OMNIMAN has remained committed to experimentation, assembling works that blur boundaries, embrace unpredictability, and trace the project’s ongoing evolution. Each release builds upon the foundations laid at its inception, carrying forward the spirit of inquiry that has defined OMNIMAN from the beginning.
