Julia Felix

Culture et Esthétiques

Album cover for Culture et Esthétiques (2022) by Julia Felix. A digitally illustrated cliffside scene overlooks a turbulent ocean. Atop the grassy cliff, figures gather around ancient stone ruins, while fantastical symbols and glowing glyphs — including a circular emblem with arrows radiating from a central black sphere — float in the sky. The landscape blends mystical architecture with cosmic iconography under a vibrant pink and purple sky. The composition evokes themes of ritual, cultural memory, and metaphysical convergence.

The second LP from Julia Felix, “Culture et Esthétiques,” continues the direction set by 2019’s “Minaret.”

The release includes collaborations with The Royal Pop Historians and the Splendids.

Across the record, Julia Felix moves through ideas of voluntary yielding, solitude as a generative state, hidden biological networks, and the shifting border between thought and lived reality. Other pieces trace imagined genetic pathways across island regions and consider the quiet emergence of sentience. These themes appear not as fixed statements but as points of inquiry woven throughout the album’s structure.
