Ov Moi Omm
Ideology

Ov Moi Omm’s 2018 release Ideology follows the 2016 LP How to Time Travel, expanding its earlier experiments into a broader and more intricate field. Three of the fourteen pieces first appeared on the Akashic‑series compilation Compendium of the Akashic Processions and Ancillaries, released earlier in the year, but here they are recontextualized within a larger framework.
The album moves through shifting modes of expression: fragments that feel philosophical, others rooted in nature or distant geographies, and still others that drift toward the speculative. Themes surface and recede — the Jenglot and other occult presences, the red dust of Mars, the isolation of the Andaman Islands, and the ways ideology shapes the cognitive orientation of a society. One piece touches on prodromal states, where perception bends and hallucinations begin to intrude, while others imagine particles slipping into dark matter or institutions that exist only as theoretical constructs. Even passing cultural moments, like Kuwait’s ban on Dostoyevsky, appear as brief distortions in the larger field.
Ideology operates as a collage of inquiries and impressions, a work that treats thought itself as material — mutable, unstable, and always on the verge of becoming something else.
