The Akashic Series

The Akashic Series is a curated sequence of compilations drawn from across the Om Pharaoh Records universe, gathering selected works from the label’s many interconnected projects. Each volume functions as an archival waypoint—an ongoing record of musical events, creative intersections, and artistic intent as they unfold through time.

The name derives from Akasha (Sanskrit ākāśa आकाश), a term meaning air, sky, space, or æther within traditional Indian cosmology. Adopted later by 19th‑century occultists and spiritualists, Akasha came to signify an invisible field where impressions, memories, and histories are said to reside. In that spirit, the Akashic Series serves as OPR’s own evolving repository: a place where past experiments, present expressions, and future possibilities coexist.

Rather than acting as simple compilations, each release forms part of a larger continuum. Tracks may originate here before appearing on individual artist releases, or they may exist only within these volumes—brief transmissions preserved in the archive. The series maps the shifting terrain of the OPR constellation, tracing how its artists overlap, diverge, and reconfigure across time.

Within the broader Om Pharaoh Records mythos, the Akashic Series stands as both chronicle and compass: a living document of the label’s expanding universe and a guide to the creative currents that move through it.

Everything that happens in the physical sense-world has its counterpart in the spiritual world. When a hand is moved, there is more before you than the moving hand seen by your eye, there is my thought and my volition: ‘My hand must move.’ A spiritual background is there. Whereas the ocular, sensible impression of the hand passes away, its spiritual counterpart remains engraved in the spiritual world and unfailingly leaves a trace there. So that, when our spiritual eyes are opened, we can follow the traces and find the spiritual counterpart of everything that has happened in the world. Nothing can happen in the world without leaving such traces. Let us suppose the spiritual investigator lets his gaze wander back to the days of Charlemagne, or to Roman times, or to ancient Greece. Everything that happened in those times is preserved in the trace left by its spiritual prototype, and can be observed in the spiritual world. This kind of vision is called ‘reading the Akashic records’.
