On the Influence of Melodies of the Soul

Yellow Omm — the collaborative project between Ov Moi Omm and YSMHB — follows 2014’s Konx Om Pax with the 2016 release On the Influence of Melodies of the Soul, an album that ventures into new and unpredictable territories of sound. Drawing from experimental electronics, noise, world and ethnic influences, IDM, and dance‑leaning structures, the record feels like a study in how rhythm, culture, and intuition shape the inner landscape.
Across its fourteen tracks, the album moves through a wide range of imagery and conceptual frames. Pieces like “Outland Natural” and “Introducing the Tardigrades” explore the microscopic and the strange, while “The Moksha of the Gandhara” and “Algerian Eyes” gesture toward spiritual and geographic histories. “The Spiritual Quantum Field” and “Ten Revolutions of the Moon” shift the focus toward cosmology and cyclical time, and “Tandoor Turmeric Coloured Mosques” blends sensory detail with architectural memory. The album also includes “Lam (The Amalantrah Working),” a piece that nods to occult correspondences and ritual experimentation.
On the Influence of Melodies of the Soul stands as a vivid expansion of Yellow Omm’s soundworld — a release that treats melody, rhythm, and cultural resonance as interconnected forces shaping the soul’s movement through both inner and outer realms.
