YSMHB
The Yellow Sunshine Microdot Happiness Band (YSMHB) emerged in southern Ontario as a loose experiment—an open‑ended project with no fixed membership, no predetermined direction, and no obligation to resolve into anything more stable than a moment of curiosity. Their first appearance within the Om Pharaoh Records universe came through the Akashic Series, where they have contributed to every volume, often in forms that feel more like transmissions than traditional tracks.
YSMHB operates in a state of deliberate uncertainty, exploring the fringes of experimental practice through improvisation, playful distortion, and an embrace of the unexpected. The project’s identity shifts from release to release, treating each contribution as another fragment in an ongoing, undefined experiment.
The group also collaborates with Ov Moi Omm under the name Yellow Omm, a partnership that first took shape along the shores of Lake Ontario in the summer of 2012. These joint works extend the exploratory ethos of both projects, blurring their boundaries into a shared field of drifting ideas.
Those who are responsible have next to no interest in contemporary music or contemporary fashion.
